Apple annonce Tiger!

Informatique - Apple - MacOS XApple a présenté aujourd'hui ce que sera MacOS X 10.4 Tiger!

Ça va être énorme!

En gros :

  • Fonctionnalité de recherche style iTunes Smart Playlist dans toute la machine
  • Widget programmables à la Konfabulator
  • Conférence mult-personne dans iChar (jusqu'à 10)
  • Compatibilité 64bit pour les G5 (jusqu'à 16 exabytes de mémoire virtuelle par programmes)
  • Access Control List pour les fichiers! Woot!



Encore une fois, Apple montre qu'ils ont réussi un tour de force avec MacOS X!

ACL!!!

w00t!

Si le sinistère débloque assez de cash l'année prochaine, je vais changer mon G4-500 AGP Graphics pour un xServe, et je vais upgrader tous mes OS X à Tiger le printemps prochain! Et ça c'est juste pour les ACL! Big Grin

Ah oui, cp,mv, tar et compagnie vont enfin reconnaître les ressource fork, pus besoin de fucker le chien avec ditto, CpMac et MvMac Rock on!

Tiger Server a aussi été annoncé (mais plus silencieusement)

Nouveautés:

  • serveurs iChat privés (via Jabber)
  • Serveur de blogs
  • Serveur de software updates privé
  • Mobile home directory (comptes en roaming qui peuvent être copiés sur un laptop)
  • Serveur mail postfix avec SpamAssassin de déjà intégré
  • Certificate management, avec son propre Certificate Authority pour des connections SSL et HTTPS
  • High availability failover
  • ACL!!! Image

Drizzt, tu diras à ton boss de bien rechecker les xServe, les xServe RAID et les Xsan ainsi que OS X Server Tiger avant de dire que des mac ses des jouets Wink Au moins sur mac on a pas d'interface fisher-price ! Big Grin

Avec Windows 2003 Server, c'est l'interface classique qui domine.

Il reste que.. ça serait un excellent remplacement.. mais on peut oublier ça! Le SAN est acheté, les machines aussi..
